Obion County Mayor Steve Carr said he is proud of the expedited work on the levee system near Rives.
After recent flood waters damaged portions of the levees, Mayor Carr said he requested assistance for repairs in advance of this week’s possible heavy rainfall.
Mayor Carr said it was fortunate that a visit by Governor Bill Lee and U.S. Congressman David Kustoff lead to a devised plan for the levees.(AUDIO)
The Mayor said he was extremely pleased with the swift response, and hopefully that waters will not flow back into the town.(AUDIO)
