A driver escaped injury after a vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a ravine early Friday morning near the North Fork of the Obion River.
The Puryear Volunteer Fire Department says crews were dispatched around 1 a.m. to a report of a crash with a trapped occupant.
Before firefighters arrived, deputies with the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department were able to remove the driver from the vehicle the driver was not injured.
With more rain expected this weekend, emergency officials remind motorists to use extra caution, allow additional travel time, and never drive through flooded roadways.
Their message is simple: Turn around, don’t drown.
