The UT Martin Skyhawks football team has been placed in the Top-25 in the first poll released this season.
The Skyhawks were placed in the No.23 spot of the initial Stats Perform FCS Top-25 Poll.
Coach Jason Simpson’s teams have won or shared four of the past five Ohio Valley Conference championships, while also winning FCS playoff games in 2021 and 2024.
UT Martin begins its 21st season under coach Simpson, who needs just three conference victories to move into second-place in OVC history.
UT Martin was the preseason pick to win the Ohio Valley Conference this year, with 53 newcomers joining eight returning starters on the team.
