A 45-year-old woman is in critical condition after Jackson police say she was stabbed multiple times Thursday evening at the Ingram factory.
Police responded to the factory on American Drive around 5:18 and found the woman had been attacked by her former boyfriend, identified as 59-year-old Willie Johnson.
Police say Johnson entered the factory while the woman was working and stabbed her multiple times in the head, neck and chest with a box cutter.
The attack was captured on surveillance video.
The woman was taken to a Memphis hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
Police say Johnson fled in a gray Dodge Charger. The vehicle was later found wrecked near Lexington in Henderson County.
Johnson was found about a mile from the vehicle and taken into custody by Henderson County Sheriff’s deputies, Lexington police and Jackson police.
The investigation remains active. Police say charges will be released as more information becomes available.
