 Gleason man arrested after assaulting man with a shovel

A Gleason man is accused of hitting another man with a shovel.

38-year-old Scotty Hugueley was arrested Sunday night after Gleason Police responded to an assault at the Little General in Gleason.

The victim told officers that when he pulled up to the gas pumps, Hugueley pulled up in front of him and began a verbal altercation which turned physical when Hugueley pulled a shovel out of the back of his truck.

The arrest affidavit states that as the two men fought over the shovel, the victim was hit in the face and ribs by the handle.

Witnesses report Hugueley was flying a Confederate flag in the back of his truck and described him as the primary aggressor.

Hugueley is charged with Aggravated Assault was released from the Weakley County Jail.
