Ice Storm Warning, Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Local Area

The National Weather Service has issued an Ice Storm Warning for counties that include Weakley, Henry, Dyer, Gibson and Carroll, with a Winter Weather Advisory issued for county that include Obion, Lake, Fulton, Hickman, Calloway and Graves.
The National Weather Service says frozen precipitation could effect the Ken-Tenn area starting this afternoon.
Memphis National Weather Service Meteorologist Caitlin Birkes told Thunderbolt News about an approaching winter weather system.(AUDIO)
Ms. Birkes said the current forecast indicates the local area will receive more than one round of frozen precipitation.(AUDIO)
The National Weather Service has issued an Ice Storm Warning, that includes the counties of Weakley, Henry, Dyer, Gibson and Carroll from 6:00 tonight until noon on Wednesday.
Forecasts say ice accumulations could range from a quarter-to-half an inch, which could cause power outages and tree damage, along with impossible travel conditions.
A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect from 2:00 until noon on Wednesday, which includes Obion and Lake County, along with Fulton, Hickman, Graves and Calloway County in Western Kentucky.
In the advisory area, sleet accumulations will be less than half-an-inch, with ice accumulations ranging from one-to-two tenths of an inch.
