Martin woman charged after allegedly hitting ex-husband with whiskey bottle

A Martin woman is charged with assault after allegedly hitting her ex-husband in the head with a whiskey bottle.

37-year-old Sarah Elizabeth Long was arrested early Saturday morning by Martin Police Patrolman Brandyn Brown after Miss Long reportedly assaulted her ex-husband when a verbal argument turned physical at a residence on Laura Street.

The victim told Patrolman Brown that he was trying to walk away from the argument when Miss Long began saying “foul things” to him as she was walking inside. The victim said he followed her to the porch and attempted to turn her around when he felt something hit his head.

The victim was treated at the Martin hospital for lacerations to his head.

Miss Long is charged with Aggravated Assault and was released from the Weakley County Jail.
