Paducah Weather Service Reports Record High Christmas Temperatures

Record temperatures were set on Christmas Day in several local states.
The National Weather Service in Paducah has reported five record high temperatures on Christmas Day.
Weather Service officials said the reporting stations of Paducah, Cape Girardeau, Carbondale, Evansville and Poplar Bluff all eclipsed daytime Christmas highs.
Paducah, Cape Girardeau and Cabondale each set new marks with a high of 74, while Evansville broke their previous record with a temperature of 72.
The most impressive record breaker came in Poplar Bluff, where the Weather Service recorded a Christmas temperature of 77.
This daytime high broke a previous record established 100 years ago in 1921.
The very unseasonable warm weather will hang around for at least a couple more days, with Monday and Tuesday forecasts calling for highs in the low-70’s.
