Tuesday morning’s severe thunderstorms caused outages to about 10,500 Gibson Electric Membership Corporation members’ homes and businesses.
The majority of outages were in Lake and Obion County, along with Fulton County in Kentucky.
Following the passing of the storms, Gibson Electric reported at least 30 broken poles, with TVA having at least five broken poles serving the Woodland Mills substation.
Tuesday morning, Gibson Electric reported 82 different outage locations, with crews working since the first outages occurred around 3:15.
Assistance from Southwest Tennessee Electric Cooperative, Pickwick Electric Cooperative and Service Electric was provided to help Gibson Electric linemen on the scene.
