Funding has been awarded to assist a playground upgrade at Union City Elementary School.
School Communications Director Mike Hutchens said a $25,000 grant was awarded to the Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization.
The Simmons Bank First Foundation is the source of the gift, with local representatives recently presenting the check to Principal Allison Palmer and PTO representative Brooke Parks.
Upon receiving the funding, Ms. Palmer said she was grateful to Simmons Bank and the PTO, for the work and funds that will benefit many children.
Reports said the upgraded playground project is expected to begin sometime at the end of the current school year.
