The Tennessee Comptroller’s Office says Weakley County violated a state statute when it entered into a long-term agreement with WK&T to provide broadband internet to the county.
The Weakley County government is disagreeing with that finding.
During Thursday’s Audit Committee meeting, Weakley County Mayor Jake Bynum addressed the issue.
Mayor Bynum believes the county has a solid plan to remove the state’s finding for next year.
The state’s finding does not stop WK&T’s work on the fiber project for the county.
The audit report will be presented to the full Weakley County Commission in June.
