Weakley County’s mask requirement is being extended through April 28.
The previous order had been set to expire Saturday, February 27.
The extension comes as Weakley County is seeing a significant decrease in the number of positive COVID-19 cases, and an increase in the number of vaccinations being administered.
Weakley County Mayor Jake Bynum said, “We aren’t out of the woods yet. It is tempting to let down our guard when the numbers trend in the right direction, but we’ve learned that we must be dedicated to remaining mindful of how easy it is to transmit COVID-19. In commitment to the safety of all, wearing a mask or face covering is still the right thing to do.”
