Union City High School has been designated as a “Rewards School”.

School Communications Director Mike Hutchens said Union City was given the honor by the State of Tennessee Department of Education.

The designation was awarded after demonstrating high levels of performance and/or improvement in performance for the 2022-23 school year.

Schools earn Reward status based on their performance on the federal accountability system.

An overall score of 3.1-to-4.0 per federal accountability calculation is required to earn the Rewards designation.

The honor marked the third time in the past five years that UCHS earned the distinction.

Union City High School will receive a banner from the state to commemorate the honor.
