Kentucky State Police Investigation Leads to Arrest of Union City Man

An investigation by detectives with Kentucky State Police has resulted in the arrest of a Union City man in connection with an armed robbery in Hickman.

Post 1 reports said 40 year old Mario Williams has been charged with first degree robbery in connection with the February 7th robbery of the Wine Cellar II.

The arrest comes after an investigation of a black male, who entered the liquor store and approached the employees behind the counter.

The individual displayed a handgun and demanded money from the cash register.

After taking the money, the man also took a bottle of liquor and left the store.

Williams was arrested in Union City, and has now been extradited to the Fulton County Detention Center in Hickman.
