The University of Tennessee Martin will have a naming ceremony for their ROTC Building next Friday.

The building that houses the Reserved Officers Training Corps will be named in honor of three-star Lt. General Dennis D. Cavin, of Gallatin.

LT. General Cavin received a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from UT-Martin in 1970 and is a member of the UTM ROTC Hall of Fame.

During his career, Cavin was an Army Air Defense Artillery officer in short range and high altitude defense for more than 20 years.

In 1996, Cavin became a brigadier general and later command general of the U.S. Army Air Defense Artillery Center.

The naming ceremony will take place on April 12th at 2:00 at the ROTC Building on the east side of Hardy Graham Stadium.
