The Obion County Commission heard debate this week pertaining to an annual donation to Reelfoot Lake Tourism.
Budget Committee Chairman, and Obion County Tourism member Sam Sinclair Jr., brought the issue to the board.(AUDIO)
Katrina Greer, the Executive Director of the Reelfoot Tourism Council, addressed their promotion with magazine and TV ads, visitor guides and maps, along with attendance at tourism conferences.
Ms. Greer said the funding from Obion County was needed for tourism efforts.(AUDIO)
County Attorney Steve Conley said the rescinding of a private act in 2021 eliminated a mandate to make the $20,000 donation.(AUDIO)
The topic of the funding was for discussion only, and no decision was made by the Commission.
