The Tennessee Valley Authority has announced energy grants that will benefit local schools.

TVA announced 106 schools would be receiving funding grants from $3-million dollars allocated through the “School Uplift Program”.

Selected to receive the grant funding locally was Martin Middle School, South Fulton Elementary and Middle School, Fulton County Elementary and Middle School, and Graves County High School.

Each of these schools were chosen to receive $10,000 from the program.

Monika Beckner, the Vice President of TVA Energy Services and Programs, said reducing energy costs makes more dollars available for educational purposes and improves the quality of the learning environment.
