Union City Council Members Inquire About Sale of East Gate Village Apartments

The status of East Gate Apartments in Union City was discussed at this week’s Union City Council meeting.

Councilman Dianne Eskew asked City Manager Johnny McTurner about a possible sale last Friday.(AUDIO)

 

Mayor Terry Hailey updated the status of those who had already been displaced.(AUDIO)

 

Marvin Frank Thomas of Memphis, the presiding Bishop of the First Episcopal District of the CME Church, told Council members this month that funding could not be acquired for the property.

Thomas said the decision was then made to sell the property to another buyer.
