Theft of Lottery Tickets Results in Arrest in Union City

A Union City woman has been charged with the theft of lottery tickets from a convenience store where she was employed.

Union City Police Department reports said 55 year old Kimberly Blair was taken into custody on a charge of theft over $10,000.

An officer was dispatched to Maverick’s, on East Reelfoot Avenue, where they spoke with business owner Hirenkumar Patel, of Martin.

At the scene, Patel showed video of Ms. Blair taking tickets from a cabinet, then activating them.

The report said she would then take the tickets to the front of the counter and check for winners without paying.

The investigation indicated 14 rolls of tickets were taken with a total value of $12,600.
