The Tennessee Department of Transportation will begin assisting travelers today for the Easter weekend.
TDOT Commissioner Butch Eley says all interstate construction work will be suspended due to the anticipation of increased holiday travel.
TDOT crews and contractors will stop road construction work that requires lane closures this afternoon at 6:00.
The closure will remain in place until 6:00 on Monday morning.
Commissioner Eley said motorists will still encounter some long term lane closures on projects that will remain in place.
