A traffic stop on I-40 led to the discovery of 110 pounds of marijuana.

Agents with the Criminal Interdiction Unit initiated a traffic stop on a van in Haywood County on Tuesday night.

During a search, agents located two boxes padlocked shut that contained 110 pounds of vacuum sealed marijuana.

The driver stated that he was paid to deliver the boxes and had no knowledge of the contents. He was travelling from Oklahoma to North Carolina.

This is the second major drug bust that has happened on I-40 in the past week, with 200 pounds of cocaine being discovered on Monday.
