Former Greenfield basketball standout Edie Darby announced her decision to step away from the Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team.
Darby announced last week that she was medically retiring, following three seasons as a walk-on player for the Lady Vols.
On Instagram, Darby said playing on the biggest stage in women’s basketball was a dream come true.
Following a lot of prayer and listening to her body, Darby said her decision to step away was rooted in faith and trust in the Lord’s plan for the next chapter.
The 5’7” Darby appeared in 31 games over three seasons with Tennessee.
The younger sister of former Lady Vols player Tess Darby says she is remaining at the university to receive her degree and continue her passion to become a doctor.
