Multiple Earthquakes Recorded in Bootheel of Missouri

While the local area has not recorded an earthquake in almost a month, the bootheel of Missouri has been very active.

Eleven small earthquakes have been detected on the New Madrid Fault Line, just across the Mississippi River, over the past week.

The latest recorded tremor occurred Tuesday morning in Pemiscott County, and was rated at 2.3 on the scale.

From April 30th thru May 3rd, New Madrid County has recorded ten earthquakes.

During this month of May, tremors in New Madrid have already been detected at 2.8, 2.6 and 2.4.

In the last three days of April, seven small earthquakes ranged from 1.3 to 2.3 on the scale.
