A special ceremony took place at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Northwest-Union City on Wednesday.
Four individuals from the Obion County Jail, and one who was completing the course, were presented welding certificates.
Austin Taylor, Rakim Gaston, Aaron Luter, and Micheal Pitts, along with James Fagan, were recognized after completing the 78 hour special industry program.
In advance of issuing the certificates, TCAT Northwest President Youlanda Jones addressed the five members of the welding class.(AUDIO)
Obion County Sheriff Karl Jackson, TCAT instructor Will Simmons, Daniel Taylor at TCAT Northwest, Obion County Deputy and Programs Manager Jason Klutz and Ginger Powell, the Deputy Director of Workforce Innovations Incorporated, were all part of the ceremony.
