Middle Tennessee State Professor Don Hong has been indicted after an investigation by the Tennessee Comptroller’s Office.

Investigators determined that Professor Hong has misappropriated over $8,000 in donations intended for the university.

Other concerns about Hong’s conduct were also revealed during the investigation. He used a false identity to lease personal rental properties, received cash from students for air transportation, accepted questionable payments from students, and used student labor for personal benefit.

Hong also appeared to retaliate against students who reported his misconduct.

The Rutherford Grand Jury indicted Hong on theft of property over $60,000 to $250,000, criminal simulation $60,000 to $250,000, forgery, and official misconduct.
