Obion County Emergency Management Director Says Required Training Needed at Rescue Squad

Obion County Emergency Management Director Danny Jowers says required training is needed by members of the counties Rescue Squad.

During a Budget Committee hearing this week, which included over 50 year Rescue Squad member Freddye Preuett, Jowers addressed the needed training.(AUDIO)

 

Jowers said the required 40-hour Incident Command Training 300 and 400 courses are offered free by the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, with an instructor in the county.

The EMA Director said there has to be accounting for the training of those at the Rescue Squad.(AUDIO)

 

The Federal Emergency Management Agency says the ICS courses are designed to provide state and local-level emergency responders with an understanding of duties, responsibilities and capabilities of Command Staff and general staff members.
