The Weakley County School Board had a special called meeting to review their budget for the next fiscal year.
School Director Jeff Cupples highlighted some items in the budget including teacher salary raises.
Apart from teachers, the school board also plans on giving raises to other school employees.
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee signed the Teacher Paycheck Protection Act in 2023, which increases teacher salaries to a minimum of $50,000 by 2026.
