Friday will be a weather alert day for the Ken-Tenn area.
The National Weather Service has now upgraded the possibility of strong to severe thunderstorms.
Forecasters have placed the entire area in a Level 3, or Enhanced Zone, with the greatest threat being large hail and strong damaging winds.
The chance of tornadoes and heavy rainfall will also be possible.
The Weather Service says watches and warnings could be issued during the afternoon and evening hours.
