Black Oak Elementary School in Hornbeak will close at the end of this school year

In a special called meeting Saturday morning, the Obion County School Board voted 6-1 to close Black Oak Elementary School effective June 30.

All 240 current K-8^th grade Black Oak students will be redistributed to either Hillcrest or Lake Road for the 2025-2026 school year.

The motion will also change Ridgemont Elementary to Obion County Middle School following the end of the 2025-2026 school year.

Hillcrest and Lake Road 6-8th grade students will attend the new Obion County Middle School while PreK-5th grade Ridgemont students will be transferred to either Hillcrest or Lake Road.
