The Weakley County Finance, Ways, and Means Committee denied Election Administrator Alex Britt’s request for a full time employee during their monthly meeting.
Administrator Britt had asked for a new employee to help with increased workload caused by new legislation and a new voter verification process.
Mr. Britt also asked that election commissioners meeting compensation be bumped from $75 per meeting to $150.
Commissioner Roger Donaldson expressed concern in editing the budget at this time.
The committee voted to amend the budget and remove the full time employee along with commission raises.
