Main Street-Union City has been designated as an Accredited “Main Street America” program.
The designation comes after Main Street-Union City again met rigorous performance standards.
Union City is now one of 821 programs across the United States to receive the top designation tier for achieving exceptional performance in the six standards of community evaluation.
Union City Executive Director Katie Graves said being an accredited Main Street America program is vital to receiving grants and other opportunities.
In 2024, Main Street-Union City received grants from the Tennessee Arts Commission and Department of Economic Development.
The downtown area also welcomed five new businesses and hosted ten events throughout the year.
