Dyersburg State Community College has been awarded over $170,000 for the 2025-26 school year along with $457,000 over the next three years from the Tennessee Department of Disability and Aging.

The money awarded is part of the Tennessee Believes grant program and will help expand the Eagle Access program, which provides higher education to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Eagle Access Director Nikki Erickson says they have already seen success in the program with eight graduates so far.

Dyersburg State plans to extend the program to the Jimmy Naifeh Center in Covington.
