New Leader Named for UT Extension

A new statewide leader has taken over for UT Extension.

Keith Carver, the Senior Vice Chancellor and Senior Vice President of the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture, announced Justin Rhinehart as the new Dean of UT Extension.

Rhinehart assumed the position on June 1st following his role as interim Dean of Extension.

Rhinehart is no stranger to the Institute of Agriculture, having served as a professor in the Department of Animal Science, an Extension beef specialist, and assistant Dean of agriculture, natural resources and community development.

The new UT Extension leader is a native of Loudon County, with his family managing a farming operation of growing livestock, tobacco and nursery crops.

He is a graduate of the Herbert College of Agriculture, along with the Universities of Kentucky and West Virginia, where he earned a Master of Science and PhD.
