Saturday will be Free Fishing Day in Tennessee.
All state residents, and visitors of any age, may fish without a license on state public waters.
Additionally, all youth ages 15-and-under may fish for free for the entire week.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency began the Free Fishing Day in 1991, with hopes of introducing children and adults to enjoy the outdoor recreation.
The TWRA named the Free Fishing Day in honor of Bobby Wilson, who served in the Fisheries Division for 35 years, before serving as the TWRA Deputy Director and Executive Director.
