The Martin City Board proposed a new tax increase during their monthly meeting on Monday.
Alderman Jacob Crowe gave Thunderbolt News more details on the city’s proposed budget for next year.
Mr. Crowe says the proposed tax increase will help Martin pay city employees who currently make less than the employees of surrounding cities.
The Board of Alderman approved the proposed budget on the 1st reading. A second reading will be held at their meeting in July.
