A man was found dead Tuesday morning at the Volunteer Hospital in Martin.
According to Martin Police, a janitor at the hospital observed a male, identified as Lowell Fourman, sitting on the floor of the restroom while she was attempting to clean.
The janitor asked a nurse for help and they observed a head injury on the individual along with a gun in his hand.
Criminal investigators were contacted and arrived on the scene to begin an investigation. The incident was labeled as a suicide on the Martin Police report.
Volunteer Hospital CEO Kevin Decker says the hospital remained open while law enforcement conducted their investigation and was available for all care needs.
