An alert clerk prevented the passing of counterfeit money at a Union City convenience store.
Police reports said an officer was dispatched to Pockets, on West Reelfoot Avenue, to investigate a bogus $20 bill.
Police reports said the clerk reported two males came into the store, with one shopping for merchandise while the other walked around.
After selecting merchandise, the individual presented the clerk a $20 bill for payment that was stamped “Motion Picture Purposes”.
After the clerk kept the bogus bill, the individuals left the store and traveled from the parking lot in a green mini van.
