The National Weather Service has issued a Weather Alert Day for today that includes the Ken-Tenn area.
The National Weather Service has now placed all of Western Kentucky in a Level 3, or Enhanced Zone, for severe thunderstorms, with Northwest Tennessee in a Level 2 zone.
Forecasters say the possibility of storms this afternoon and tonight could include strong, damaging winds, hail, and the possibility of tornadoes.
The Weather Service says watches and warnings could be issued during the day.
