Longtime Tennessee broadcaster Larry Stone will join the Vol Radio Network this fall to produce its football broadcasts and serve as Gameday Host.

Stone joins new “Voice of the Vols” Mike Keith, analyst Ramon Foster, sideline reporter Brent Hubbs and gameday analyst Jayson Swain on the football broadcast team. The group will make its debut on Saturday, August 30 when the Vols face Syracuse in Atlanta.

“I met Larry Stone in 1997,” Keith said. “Over the last 28 years, I have met no one that I respect more as a broadcaster, a person or a friend. Larry’s respect for the institution that is the Vol Radio Network will be apparent in everything that he does on Saturdays. We are thrilled to have him join us!”

Stone spent 17 years as Executive Producer and Gameday Host for Titans Radio, creating the sound that made the network one of the largest and most respected in all sports. Prior to his arrival in Tennessee, Stone spent ten years working with the Tar Heel Sports Network and flagship station WCHL in Chapel Hill.

“There is something special about the pageantry and tradition around college football Saturdays,” Stone said. “And Tennessee does it better than anyone. We want to bring all that energy to every game on the Vol Network. I am so excited to be back with Mike in serving Vol fans across this great state.”

“The Vol Network is excited to welcome Larry Stone to the team,” said Brandon Parks, Vice President and General Manager of the Vol Network. “His passion for Tennessee Athletics combined with years of radio experience and expertise will enhance the listeners’ experience on football Saturdays this fall.”

The Vol Network broadcasts each Saturday will begin two and a half hours prior to kickoff with “Big Orange Countdown”, an interactive 90-minute show featuring Hubbs, Foster and Swain. Stone will then host the final hour before kickoff, then handing off to Keith and Foster to call the game action.
