A Heat Advisory remains in place until 9:00 on Friday night.

The National Weather Service says daytime temperatures near the mid-90’s will create heat index values as high as 109 degrees.

Forecasters say the daytime heat and humidity can cause heat related illnesses.

Anyone outdoors for a period of time is urged to drink plenty of water and other non-alcoholic fluids, and to wear light colored, loose fitting clothing.

Periodic breaks are also recommended in the shade or air conditioning.

Pet owners are also reminded to keep plenty of fresh water and shade available for their animals, who also can become ill due to the extreme heat.
