Alabama Man Arrested in Union City Following Identity Theft Investigation

An Alabama man was arrested in Union City following an identity theft investigation.

Union City police reports said 29 year old Christopher Paul Thomas, of Tuscaloosa, was charged with identity theft and driving on a suspended license.

Union City police were dispatched to I69 Motorsports, where Thomas was detained while looking at dirt bikes.

At the police station, Thomas was questioned about an application he submitted for financing.

He eventually told officers he bought a line of credit online and used the Social Security number on the application.

Police learned the Social Security number belonged to 60 year old Christopher Paul Thomas, of Birmingham.

After learning Thomas drove a U-Haul to Union City on a suspended license in Alabama, the charges of identity theft and driving on suspended license were issued.
