
The Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet has released unemployment numbers for the month of May.
The year-to-year report from May 2024 to 2025 showed the jobless rate fell in 97 counties, increased in 13 and remained the same in ten.
May of 2025 numbers indicated Kentucky with a statewide jobless rate at 4.4-percent.
In the eight county Purchase Region of Western Kentucky, Graves County held the lowest unemployment rate at 3.9-percent.
This was followed by Hickman County at 4.2, Carlisle County at 4.4, McCracken County and Calloway County at 4.6 and Marshall County at 4.7-percent.
The highest unemployment numbers in the Purchase Region was Fulton and Ballard County at 4.9-percent.
