Jackson Police Make Arrest in Park Shooting

Jackson police say an arrest has been made in connection with a park shooting on May 24th.

Police reports said 18 year old Jaylan Harrison was arrested on a warrant charging him with reckless endangerment.

The charges stem from multiple shots being fired at Kate Campbell Park, following an event involving paintball style activities.

During the event with 50-to-60 individuals present, investigations showed a physical altercation occurred.

Police say multiple shots were then fired with seven individuals receiving gunshot wounds.

Police say Harrison was one of the individuals who was shot during the disturbance, with five recovered shell casings also being attributed to a firearm in his possession.

Harrison was charged after admitting to firing the weapon.

Police recovered over 50 shell casings at the scene, with an investigation still ongoing.
