MARTIN, Tenn. – Head coach Kevin McMillan of the University of Tennessee at Martin women’s basketball team has announced the addition of former Union City High School boys basketball coach Shane Sisco to his staff for the 2025-26 season.

“Shane is a proven winner, and adding someone of his caliber, with his resume, to our staff will no doubt make us a better team,” said head coach Kevin McMillan. “Shane’s knowledge of the region’s high school ranks will help us on the recruiting trail, and his high basketball IQ will help make us better on the floor.”

“It’s a privilege to join the staff here at UT Martin,” said Sisco. “Coach McMillan has built a program that is consistently competing at the top of the Ohio Valley Conference. I have known Coach since he was at Westview and have followed his teams and the successes he has had at each stop. I am fortunate to join this program at this point in my career and am extremely excited and ready to get started.”

A winner of two TSSAA Class 1A state titles in 2006 and 2008 and a runner-up finish in 2015, Sisco had a remarkable track record of success for the Tornadoes. He won 592 overall games with Union City, won 20 or more games in 20 of his 26 seasons, and claimed the district championship 11 times.

In 2016, Sisco did the near impossible, as he guided the Tornadoes to a perfect 37-0 record en route to his first state championship. In total, Sisco was a nine-time Coach of the Year, made 100 appearances in the sectional round of the state tournament, and advanced to the state tournament proper on four occasions.

Sisco is also no stranger to the Skyhawks, having played men’s basketball for UT Martin from 1988-91, before graduating from UTM in 1992 with a degree in education.
