Tennessee Tech University has tied for the top spot public university in the state, according to Money’s 2025 “Best Colleges in the U.S.
Tech earned a rare four-star rating, tying with the University of Tennessee-Knoxville as the top-rated public university in Tennessee.
Other ranked public universities in the state included Eastern Tennessee State University and the University of Memphis, both earning three point five stars.
The only private universities to match or exceed Techs score were Vanderbilt University and King University.
Tech also had the lowest “full price” for attendance rate, beating all other Tennessee institutions in total cost of tuition, fees, room, board, books, travel and other miscellaneous expenses together.
