An investigation continues in Obion County following a fatal traffic accident last week.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol said a four-year-old child was killed just before noon last Tuesday on U.S. Highway 51 at Mayberry Road.
This location is between Union City and South Fulton.
A preliminary report by Tennessee Highway Patrol indicated 27 year old Keylon Pevy, of Tennessee, was traveling in a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, when the vehicle struck a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 38 year old Jesus Castro, of Tennessee.
Reports said Castro’s vehicle was parked off of the roadway at the time of the crash.
The four-year-old who received fatal injuries was a passenger in Pevy’s vehicle.
The Highway Patrol said Pevy and a seven-year-old passenger were both injured, with all wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
Castro, nor his passenger, 24 year old Jesus Moya Ramirez, of Tennessee, were injured.
The report from the Jackson District indicated charges in the crash are pending the investigation.
