Main Street-Union City is seeking artists for a unique project in the downtown area.
Executive Director Katie Graves said a partnership of Main Street, the City of Union City and Platform Waste Management has resulted in a project to paint three dumpsters for the downtown district.
Mrs. Graves said the “Call for Artists” will culminate with three artists, or art teams, selected to place their design on the dumpsters.
The project is focusing on enhancement of the dumpsters with ideas such as inspirational quotes, warm colors and shapes, or community focused concepts.
Artists must submit an application and design by August 1st, with winner announced on August 8th.
Selected artists will be reimbursed up to $150 for supplies, and awarded $200 for a completion date by September 30th.
