Kentucky State Police has charged a Ballard County inmate following an attempt to escape.

Post 1 Mayfield reports said 32 year old Jeremy Lynn, of Lovelaceville, was charged with attempted first degree escape and two counts of third degree assault.

The assault charges stem from the assault on correctional employees.

Troopers were called to the Ballard County Jail after Lynn entered the control room and assaulted an employee, while attempting to unlock doors.

The investigation then showed Lynn assaulted a second employee, who entered the control room before he was taken back into custody.

The Post 1 report stated neither employee required medical attention.
