WBBJ reports A McKenzie Man was arrested and charged with public indecency and sexual activity with animals Friday.
The owner of the dog, called police after capturing 77 year old Harold Edward Smothers on camera, doing “ungodly things” to her dog and then defecating in her backyard.
Upon arrival, the deputy observed Mr. Smothers, playing tug of war with the dog and rubbing what appeared to be a “soiled” rag in the dog’s face.
Smothers stated that he was “only playing with the dog when he had to go to the bathroom.”
He was then taken into custody and issued a $1,000 bond on the public indecency charge, and a $2,500 bond on the charge of sexual activity with animals.
He bonded out just hours after being booked and is expected to appear in Carroll County General Sessions Court August 13th.
