A man, who allegedly tried to break into a house and then took off running when a 12-year-old girl tackled him in a soybean field, was arrested.
The Crockett County Sheriff’s Office said 35-year-old Robert W. Sills, who had active warrants against him, is charged with criminal trespassing and aggravated attempted burglary.
Sills took off running and was chased by the girl and was able to stop Sills while help from another man and a local farmer held Sims until deputies arrived.
Crockett County Sheriff’ Troy Klyce commended the girl for her bravery and appreciation to the assistance of witnesses last week in helping to keep the community safe.
